Here are five easy steps you can take now to heatproof your plants and ensure a long season of color and vigorous growth in your garden.
Warning: this recipe makes a very large batch, but it’s really easy to halve or even quarter.
Mrs. Fields’ Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 cups butter
2 cups light brown sugar
1 ½ cups white granulated sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
5 cups oatmeal (don’t worry, they don’t look at all–or even taste very–oatmeal-y!)
4 cups flour
24 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
½ of a large bag of milk chocolate M & M’s
Cream together the first 5 ingredients. Next, grind the oatmeal in a blender into a fine powder. Mix oatmeal with the flour and add to the creamed mixture. Stir well, and then add the chocolate chips and M & M’s. Drop onto un-prepared cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
