GARDEN SHED ORGANIZATION
As any avid gardener knows, the key to successful spring gardening each year is prep work. Get into gear now by stocking and organizing your shed (or dedicated space in your garage) so it’s ready for gardening action. Here’s how:
Maximize your vertical storage space. Mount open shelves, hooks, pegboards and clamps to the wall to hold tools and other gardening supplies in plain sight.
Add closed storage. Base cabinetry featuring one or more doors that can be padlocked shut provides a safe spot to store plant food and other chemicals.
Create a large work surface. Lay a counter on top of your base cabinetry or create a high-end look with a slab of Corian or laminate. Go for a more rustic appearance with pine boards or an old door.
Store your soil. Make repotting and soil replenishing easier and tidier by dumping potting soils, compost, manure and grass seed into individual bins or galvanized steel garbage pails. Keep them stocked through the season.
